Website owners who keep up to date with SEO competition are finding out that if you are not learning and evolving you’re falling behind. It’s becoming more and more difficult for websites to maintain high rankings on search engines and that’s even if your site is already a few years old. If you are starting a new website it’s even more difficult to make your mark on a SEO. Expectations for new sites should be set up with the goal for long term results.

The most important factor in determining your website’s success is to know what you are looking for from your site. Most owners believe that rankings dictate a website’s success and while rankings are important they do not determine the overall success of the site. Owners should pay attention to the traffic they receive because that is going to factor into your business success and put money in your pocket. That’s why you have the site, correct? To make more money! Most website owners want to be in the top five of Google and Yahoo searches, when at the end of the day those rankings to not affect their bottom line.

This will not change the fact that rankings will continue to be a highly sought after commodity. Website owners need to think outside the box if they want to move up on SEO rankings. Owners have been expanding their keywords in hopes of attracting more surfers to their site. What they should be doing is figuring out what keywords people are using and incorporate those words and phrases onto their site.

At the end of the day websites are all about content, but what constitutes good content? In one word: Creativity. Your website is an extension of you, just like your business is. Use your voice and be unique with the content you decide to put on your website. This includes videos and pictures as well. Look at the resources you have and incorporate all the good things around you into your website. Do not steal or copy from other websites, it is superficial and that comes across to the visitors on your site. Make your content genuine. Do what you do best and speak from the heart. Make sure you write content for your site and not based on search engines. It’s a disservice and will not help your business or rankings.

The best advice one can give a website owner is: Do not compete with other websites! Continue to expand and evolve your own website and don’t saturate your brain with other people’s ideas. There is no right or wrong, what works for one does not work for another. Start with what you need to have on your site and work up from there.

You can pay all the money in the world to a SEO company and be number one on all the search engines, but did you really start a website to spend money or to make money?

Blogging is becoming one of the most popular ways to market a company, brand, personality or product on the Web. Why? Because search engines love content, and there is no better way to create and manage content on the Web than a blog. According to Technorati, there are over 60 million blogs on the Web, with over 100,000 being created every day. A lot of people have caught on to blogging, and there is plenty of room for more.

What is a Blog?

The word ‘blog’ is a slang compilation of two words; ‘web’ and ‘log’, or ‘weblog’. Initially established as a way to publish computer log files, the original pioneers of blogging began publishing more and more interesting content. Today, bloggers post news, commentary, and even real time descriptions of events using blog software.

Think of a blog as an ‘online journal’. ‘Posts’, as they are called, are short articles that are listed on your blog site in chronological order. Visiting a blog, you will notice that the most recent article is presented at the top, and earlier stories are listed below, or in an archive.

Blog software is available all over the Internet. Some of the more popular sources are Wordpress and Blogger. Our favorite is Wordpress because it is an ‘open source’ application that can be installed on your own server and customized.

A custom blog allows you to have more control over the look of the interface, and event to incorporate the blog into your existing site. This is of particular interest to companies who want to use blogging as a way to communicate with customers and keep fresh content at the forefront of their site; a great search engine strategy.

Blogging and SEO: Why is it such a Good Idea?

Search engines, such as Google and Yahoo, scour the Web looking for new content to index. In particular, they are looking for content that is ‘keyword rich’; content that is full of relevant keywords. When content is keyword rich, it provides relevance for the site and allows a search engine to properly categorize your blog site into a particular market.

Keywords can be anything from the name of your product, to the name of your company, or the type of services you offer. Refining keywords with geographic specificity is a popular way to climb to the top of a search page in your particular region, even though you may be competing with a lot of sites on a national level. (For instance; ‘lawn care’ gets over 5.5 million hits, while ‘utah lawn care’ gets a more reasonable 1.2 million. The more times you can use a keyword in each post, the better.)

Websites that regularly update keyword rich content are considered ‘alive and active’ by the leading search engines, and are given priority over sites that are considered ‘dormant’ or ’stagnant’. If your site has not changed in over 60 days, you are in danger of being considered ’stagnant’, and falling out of favor with the search engines.

Search engines gain popularity with users based on their ability to direct people to relevant sites that are alive and active with current content. How often do you want to visit a site that hasn’t changed in over a year? The search engines feel the same way, and are reluctant to refer a site that hasn’t been updated for a while.

Again; a blog is a great way to add content management to your existing site, and is a terrific way to get started on the Web with a basic web presence that can become a very effective marketing tool.

What Else Can a Blog Do?

Aside from writing content, you can do a lot of creative, and even productive things with a blog.

Blog systems provide the ability to upload files and attach them to your posts (articles). Having this ability means you can add your own graphics to each article, dressing them up with photos of people, places and products. You can also add full motion video, slide shows, and even link to You Tube or other streaming video hosting services.

Podcasting has become popular, and is a fun way to add audio to your articles. You can include music, sounds or interviews; virtually anything you can record can be added to your blog as an audio file.

One of the most common things to add to an article is a file such as a PDF or even a Word document. Linking files to your articles allows your readers to download those files, which can be anything from a photo, instructions, or a form to slides, video and audio.

There are also advanced marketing functions you can perform with a blog. By incorporating a subscription function, you can collect leads from your blog, and communicate with your audience via an automated email system. Each time you post a new article, your subscribers will automatically receive an email notification. Instant newsletter.

Getting Started

Blogging can be done in a number of ways; there are free options out there that allow you plenty of space to write all you can at no cost. If you are interested in creating a custom site, with your own graphics, extensions, and management options, you will want to establish a custom blog on your own domain.

If you already have a domain (such as www. yourname. com), it is best to establish your blog on a ’sub-domain’. Your Web guy will know how to do this. Name your sub-domain with a keyword for the best search engine optimization (such as widget. yourname. com).

If you are the technical type, or you have someone who takes care of your Web systems; take a look at wordpress. org and download a copy of their latest open source blog software. Once installed you are ready to go.

There are several ways web hosting can be utilized for SEO purposes. In fact, there is a special kind of web hosting called “SEO Web Hosting.” This kind of hosting enables the companies to exercise greater control over their clients’ internet properties or domains in that they can make them (domains) appear separate web properties to the search engines.  This practice prevents their client domain rankings from being filtered by the web hosting filters.

What is an IP class?

In order to understand an IP class, we must first understand what is an IP or an Internet Protocol address.  An IP address is a numeric address of your computer. For example, an IP address looks like: 74.86.246.210. It consists of four parts called: Class A, B, C, D. In this address, the figure 74 is called Class A; 86 is class B; 246 is class C; and 210 is class D.

Of these four classes, class C or C class is important for hosting a site from the SEO point of view.

What are “Multiple C Class IP Addresses?”

When you have multiple class C IP addresses, each address has a different C number. Some web hosting companies give you multiple C IP addresses. Multiple C class IP hosting is a very powerful SEO tool to boost the page ranks of the websites. These addresses are specially designed for seoing the blogs and small websites.

Why do we need multiple C IP class web hosting?

It is quite well-known that the best way to secure high page rank for a website on Google search pages is to have as many links (rather back links) as possible directing the searchers to that website.

Getting the back link is, therefore, the greatest challenge for the webmasters or internet marketers to optimize their websites. Most people resort to link spamming, link harvesting, or similar other black hat techniques to get backlinks in order to boost the rank of their websites. This is obviously not an ethical way.

Moreover, Google also does not approve the links from websites that are hosted on IP addresses in the same IP C class as yours. Multiple C IP class web hosting is a powerful tool to circumvent Google’s stringent web hosting conditions and getting back links from the same IP C Class address.

Getting Multiple C Class IP hosting is quite easy. You should go to the website of a Multiple C Class IP Hosting provider and sign up for 5-10 Multiple C Class IP package. Search the internet for comparative shopping to get the best deal. Register 5-10 different domain names related to the main niche keyword/phrase of your website.

Create 5-10 Wordpress blogs with the domain names you have acquired. Write original, informative and useful blogs with main keywords/phrases. Create text links and use them as back links to connect to your website.

The large number of back links coming from so many websites is sure to boost your search engine ranking for your niche keywords or phrases. Getting back links from different websites is all that the modern SEO is about. You can maintain your high page rank for a long time by creating more and more blogs or articles on your websites.

I look at a lot of sites on a daily basis. There is a lot of common problems I see on the sites. Some people may have tags establishment or misuse of tags that have no real purpose. I have compiled a list of the top 5 do-it-yourself SEO mistakes. It is safe to say that many do-it-yourselfers can have at least one of these errors on their sites. These should help you avoid these costly mistakes and often pull you in the ranks.

1) Keyword tag – Seo Services

A keyword is the beacon of keywords, but not for keywords. You can not just stuff this tag with keywords that your entire site is related. The tags must reflect the keywords only on that particular page, not the entire site and not all of the keywords you think your site could be searched. Also, you should not have more than 20 words in the tag. You should not repeat any word more than 3 times. If you sell tickets, for example, do not write: Broadway tickets, the circus tickets, hockey tickets, boxing tickets, and so forth. Do use Broadway, the circus, hockey, boxing, tickets and so forth.

2) Description tag – It is sometimes used as a replacement for or combined with a description tag. However, more and more people are using these keywords to stuff. Search engines like Google are interested in what is on the page. More specifically, what visitors can see. In my opinion, the abstract tag has no place on a site.

3) Description Tag – The idea behind this tag is to describe what the “page” is about. Keywords related to the page should be implemented as well. The limit on words should be 20 to 25. I see a lot of site owners stuffing this tag with keywords, or having a description that is just as long. Stay within these guidelines and you will be fine.

4) Title tag – This, I believe, is the most important tag. This is the first tag the search engine bed. He tells what the search engine of the “page” is about. Do not put your web address here. Do not add your company name at the beginning of this tag either. It should not exceed 60 characters.

5) Content-If you notice, I received comments on the relevance of the “page”, not your entire site. Each page has its own keywords. Tag the title tag, description and keywords. All these keywords should be the same. Add it to your content as well. Now your page should be fairly well optimized.

Why is it that the sites fall short? Simple, the content is not optimized. Search engines are, for the most part, pretty basic. You enter a search term and it retrieves sites containing those terms while also taking a number of other factors into account. So if your site does not have these terms, how will you find it? You will not. More to do with keywords and you will experience the same result, but for different reasons. Sometimes, while reading about SEO can be bad. Try too many tricks, tips or methods is like too many cooks spoil the soup. At the end, they may do more harm than good. These rules are very easy to be followed by all. And the doubt? Always consult or hire a professional SEO Expert.

Explain Complicated Terms In Detail

Explanation of technical terms used in the article is very much important. The readers may not be proficient of all the technical terms used. For example, you will know that the automobile term CRDI used in the article stands for ‘common rail diesel injection’, There is a possibility that the readers may wonder, what CRDI stands for. So it is necessary to explain the technical terms in the article.

Once you provide all the explanation for the technical terms, your article will look like a reference and that what most readers will be looking for. For example people looking for references for CRDI will also have a look at your article if it’s well explained. This increases the popularity of your article. Another aspect to be noted in using abbreviations is that, most abbreviations like ‘AA’ is applicable both for ‘American airlines’ and ‘America’s Army’. So it is necessary to explain all the abbreviations used in the article inorder to avoid confusion.  While using technical terms like piston stroke of an engine, its is always good to include a short sentence, explaining the same. It makes your article more interesting to read and also easy to understand.

Provide New And Unique Information

People will be definitely looking for new and unique information. Old, outdated information will make people ignore your article. So make sure that you provide the latest and unique information in the article. Moreover, the search engines will crawl the old articles on the same topics more than the new ones.

You will be well aware that each and every industry will have its own niche. So it’s best to write unique articles focused on the current industry niche. Use the buzzwords as keywords in the article. For example social media is a buzzword today. Its better to include the keyword ’Social media’ in an article related to SEO or marketing. Reading other articles that are available on the internet is a good practice. It helps you know what is hot in the market. Reading is a great way to catch up on phrases and terminology.

Research Before Writing

The quality of the article depends on how well it is well researched. Researched articles will grab the attention of many readers. Also doing a bit of research will help you to write long articles which cover the topic in depth. Doing a bit of research in the internet, before writing the article helps you to provide reliable information in your article. An ill researched article could be found out at the first glance itself. This destroys the reliability of the readers towards your article.

DAO (Digital Asset Optimization); with the acronym DAO floating around everywhere these days it might lead you to wonder; is DAO replacing search engine optimization? The answer is no, in fact DAO can best be described as the evolution of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), SEO isn’t dead, but it is rapidly evolving. Over the past few years emphasis has shifted from a focus on “on page elements” to the off-site criteria. It began with Google’s PageRank. PageRank is defined as a link analysis algorithm that assigns a numerical weighting to a website, with the purpose of “measuring” its relative importance on the World Wide Web (wikipedia.com 02/12/08). In simpler terms, Google counts every external link to a website as a vote for that website, it also measures how relevant each one of those voting websites is to the content of the linked website; in essence we are measuring the popularity of a website. What does PageRank have to do with DAO? DAO is all about moving the focus of our optimization efforts from the text on a page to more relevant assets of a website regardless of where that takes us. It is about helping the searcher find the most relevant website based on the criteria and content that is important to them, not just the text on a page.

The bottom line is that companies must figure out how to best adjust their Internet marketing strategy, which includes but is not limited to website optimization (SEO), paid search (SEM), email marketing, Web 2.0 & social media optimization, link building, and affiliate marketing strategies to maintain a competitive advantage. The best way to achieve this is to focus the right balance of your resources on standard text optimization as well as the optimization and promotion of all other digital assets. You might be asking yourself – when is it the right time to start making this shift? The answer is simple – right now! The search engines already have their systems in place to measure the relevancy of a website’s digital assets and they are constantly focusing on improving these systems and making them a more prevalent part of their search systems. The only question is how long it will take for the users to fully realize that they have these resources at their disposal.

Both Google’s Universal Search and the new Ask3D interface show users more information from more sources (news, images, products, video, etc) in the first page of results than we have ever seen before. This shift in how search engines present the search results illustrates the need to consider more media types than standard text documents. The growth of Universal search means the kinds of search results SEO consultants have become accustomed to and have been optimizing for are either on the way out or on the decline. Figuring out new ways to optimize any electronic file that can be crawled, indexed, categorized and sorted is where the opportunity lies. This is about a lot more than just optimizing social media, it’s about “the big picture”, having the ability to optimize the Internet as a whole, making all content easier to find via search rather than simply having to rely on the text within the website. These days it is becoming more common for businesses to produce an array of different content types, and search engines are doing their best to index that content. A search engines success is directly related to its ability to adapt to changes in the market, this means that those of us who use these search engines to market our websites must adapt as well. With such intense competition, and so much money at stake, the leading search providers will continue to make the user experience better thus making it easier to find whatever it is we seek.

The trend in search is shifting from optimizing for a slow, one-dimensional engine, and is moving towards a highly sophisticated integration of elements, including image, video, consumer reviews, social networks, social ratings, podcasts, and much more. This means we must begin to adjust what needs to be optimized from the platform to the actual asset itself. This is what makes DAO the future of Internet marketing. DAO views the platform as merely the vehicle which carries the content directly to the searcher, as opposed to SEO which focuses almost solely on bringing the platform (a website) to the searcher, and waiting (or hoping) for the searcher to discover the content. For example, by understanding how videos can be optimized, a search campaign can be successful on Google or YouTube. We no longer need to use text optimization as the only method to reach potential visitors, all the while hoping that once they arrive the more “sophisticated” content will actually close the deal. So, the future of SEO as defined today is destined to change. The days of success being optimization for 10 text links on a standard results page will be over soon.

So long as billions of people continue to use search engines on a daily basis, there will be progression in the modes of optimization we use to improve a websites visibility to the search engines, helping to enhance their presence on the Internet. Companies need to consider all of the digital assets that they have to work with in order to give both the search engines and the customers the information they’re looking for in the formats they’ll respond to. Optimizing comprehensively starts with an inventory of a company’s digital assets. Text, images, audio and video should all be considered when determining what we need to optimize, we no longer need to wait for the customer to find us through our use of text optimization so we can impress them with our other digital assets. Matching digital assets with channels of distribution provides marketers with even more opportunity to reach customers since each channel can drive traffic independently as well as improve a websites standard search visibility. Digital asset optimization is not just a better definition of the future of search marketing; it is the future of search marketing.

SEO Content is Content Optimized by the Search Engines. What does this mean? Here are a few things:

1. The search engines read your site as closely and as humanly has possible.

2. If you offer SEO Content Services and provide content related to this then you are satisfying their requirements

3. It is important to know how to strategically place this content carefully in your site and in such a way that it causes the search engines to read your site on a regular basis.

Having said this, understand what is implied here is that you carefully researched your industry and discovered which keywords best fit your site. Don’t assume that because you would find a site under a certain term that everyone else would.

Sites like Yahoo and Google provide tools to help you discover SEO Content related keywords. Go to Google or Yahoo Search and search with each of these terms:

1. Overture Search Tool

2. Google Search Tool

There are other tools out there but keep in mind that these 2 search engines generate the most results. Now, open one of these tools and enter in a keyword. In our example we are using “SEO content” Based on my results I am seeing that I want to use these 5:

1. search engine SEO

2. search engine content

3. Content SEO

4. web site content

5. SEO optimization

Why only 5 keywords instead of 100’s? Well if you want to be strategic about this then you realize that time is not on your side and that you can better focus on 5 then 100’s. Filling your site with just keywords is not useful you need to fill your pages with information surrounding the keywords.

Now that you have your keywords and a basic understanding what is next?

Think carefully before you put this next step into action. You have 5 keywords but we will start with 1. I will start with “Content SEO” then I will write at least 400 words or more about this keyword and give informative information regarding this phrase.

Even though the search engines are reading this nearly like a human they still can’t decide based on what you write if it even makes sense so why take the time to write content that is of great quality? Because, these pages will be indexed by the search engines read by real people. Do you want to turn business away because you are just trying to get great positions on the web? No, you want to retain the traffic you get from these results.

If I spend time actually defining the keyword “Content SEO” or write educational content related to it I want to make sure at the end the reader was satisfied and the search engines as well. In fact you may want to write 2 separate pages of content relating to the keyword in these ways:

1. In the form of educational and informative to retain business from the readers

2. In the form of an article to place on article sites and your blog

I think I have you attention now, as I haven’t really gotten into blogging and article distribution. This takes us into the next step.

What do I do with this keyword related content?

First, you want a blog installed on your site similar to the one we are using here. I like word press personally but ultimately it is up to you.

Once you have your blog you would insert your article in it. Make sure to have a catchy title like “Why you need Content SEO Help in Today’s Search Engines” then post your blog.

Find a list of great article sites now to post this same article. Note that when I talk about writing these things that you are not promoting services but educating people. This is very important because your article will get rejected if it is self promoting. Become a Guru of quality SEO Content to gain mass exposure on the web.

There are many article sites, actually tons. Find either article sites that have great rank and SE friendly set up or use an article distribution service. Then join News Groups that allow you to both read and post articles.

The advantage here is most article sites and all blogs have rss feeds. These are great for well written SEO Content articles and content. These feeds can be submitted to a ton of rss directories and if you use your blog correctly every post will notify Blog servers.

On top of this you can bookmark your blogs to social network sties. Do a search for Sociable Bookmark Plugin for wordpress to help speed up this process.

If you really get creative you can even send your feeds to podcasts for even deeper distribution.

The end result is you have positioned great content on your site, posted a well written SEO Content based article on your blog and Article sites and you are now starting to scratch the surface of understanding what is involved in SEO Content for the Search Engines.
